Marshal
Want to get involved and Marshal at PMBA Enduro?
Like the PMBA trail building teams at Gisburn Forest, Healey Nab, Lee/Cragg Quarries & Bickerstaffe, we rely on our team of volunteers to bring these enduro events; if you would like to get involved, please read on!
Although marshalling is on a voluntary basis we are able to contribute towards your expenses, fuel and clothing. To start marshalling you need very little, just your ordinary outdoor clothing. Experienced regular marshals may upgrade their wet weather gear, or buy a flask and camp chair, and this is why we pay at £50/day in expenses to all marshals; even those using less than £50 of fuel to attend. Being an expenses payment means you do not have to declare this as taxable income, which can be complicated for many workers. This is paid by BACS within 7 days of the event.
- You must be at least 16 to Marshal.
- You must be fit enough to spend a day outdoors.
While we do have volunteers in the race arena, most volunteers are deployed in remote locations and you will need to walk to your position with your gear. Your stage manager will arrange for you to get as close to the stage as possible in vehicles and be your contact for any questions you have during the day. Each stage will have access to a professional medical team to back up our marshal team.
We will issue you with:
- Radio
- Whistle
- Hi Vis Vest
- Flags
- Packed Lunch

After filling in the form and hitting “Sign up now” nothing will happen on the page, but you will have signed up for our marshal mailing list so do not panic that there is not a “all is done” notification. Thank You.
